The Springkell Santorium was bult in 1910 to accommodate patients with lung ailments from the mines.
The building was refurbished and renovated under the guidance of the Provincial Heritage Resources Association of Gauteng (PHRAG) to become the new Heritage House at heritage Mature Lifestyle Estate and houses the common property and amenities for residents. Residents also have full access to the 1925 Clubhouse and Cafe that was previously the superintendent’s house.
- The ground floor has been adapted for the Wellness Hub – an observation room and sick bay run by TruCare Age Well Solutions, a 19-seater movie room, the 1910 Lounge and Bar, library, pool room, activity room, salon, craft room and Linton Dining hall.
- The first floor of Heritage House will accommodate roughly 20 studio and 1-bedroom apartments for rental equipped with a kitchenette and private bathrooms, lift access and beautiful views over the Oval and Pavilion to the North.
